人体隐喻的翻译规律及其解释

作为重要的修辞手段和认知方式,隐喻成为人们研究的热门话题,并一度达到“狂热”时期,国内外认知隐喻研究发展迅速,占据了认知理论领域的主导地位。现在,隐喻在哲学、语言学、认知科学等领域都受到了广泛关注,而“概念隐喻理论”从认知角度拓宽了隐喻研究的范围。然而,与之相关的隐喻翻译研究与隐喻和隐喻研究的重要地位并不相称。尽管隐喻翻译是翻译中最基本、最特殊的问题,影响到整个翻译的质量,但其研究却长期处于次要地位,相关文献很少。因而,对隐喻翻译的研究应该成为重要的研究领域。基于Lakoff和Johnson的概念隐喻理论,本文将试图从描写译学角度,以《呐喊》及其英译本为研究对象,选取“心”、“眼”、“头”等几个代表性的人体隐喻,对人体隐喻的领域进行基础性研究,试图对汉英两种语言中出现的人体隐喻进行对比,探究人体隐喻的特点、翻译策略及规律。首先,观察、确认小说中人体隐喻,并从概念隐喻的分类对人体隐喻进行归类,并进行分析,统计出各分类的数量及所占比例。此外,为便于理解,文中均以“心”的人体隐喻为例,选取典型例子将原文隐喻和译文进行对照,对人体隐喻的翻译主要从归化、异化两种策略来分析。研究表明,汉语语篇中存在大量的人体隐喻;只有少量人体隐喻采用异化翻译策略,而大部分隐喻的翻译仍以归化为主;归化策略是人体隐喻翻译的基本策略;归化翻译策略还以更高的精度区分为死喻翻译为等值表达、用情感词替代原隐喻、转换成人称代词转喻、概念转喻相互转换、意义翻译和省略;这些转换规律和技巧可以从语言、文化、语境和译者立场等角度加以解释。
