从文化诗学角度谈元散曲翻译

元曲,与唐诗,宋词三足鼎立,共同构成了中国文学史的高峰。元曲包含杂剧和散曲。散曲从音乐意义上看是元代流行的歌曲,从文学意义来说,是一种独具语言风格的抒情诗。它是中国文化的一部分,鲜明地体现出元代文学的新精神,反映出元代我国社会的、文化的、民族的心态、精神和品格,具有文化性特点;散曲同时又继承了传统诗学的某些因素,具有诗学的特点。散曲中的文化性与诗学性是一个和谐统一的整体。从规模效应来看,元曲不能与唐诗,宋词比肩,因而长期以来,对于元曲的翻译,在数量与质量上远不及诗词。元散曲的翻译,从20世纪60年代开始,直到21世纪初才有了两个英译版本。学者们对于元散曲的翻译大多从读者接受角度或诗意美学角度展开,很少从散曲所具备的文化性与诗学性相结合的角度研究散曲。在当今的散曲翻译中有非常优秀的作品,但仍存在大量错译,误译,而且至今尚无一套系统的关于元散曲翻译的理论。针对这一现象,本文对由斯蒂芬·葛林布莱特提出,蒋述卓和童庆炳根据中国文学实际发展的文化诗学理论进行了研究,详述了其基本概念及其可能对元散曲翻译的指导意义。除了引言与结论,本文主要由三章构成。第二章介绍了文化诗学的产生发展,核心概念,对文学作品翻译的影响,以及翻译的文化诗学。第三章对散曲与散曲翻译研究进行了回顾。指出散曲具有的文化性特点与诗学特点,对于这些特点的忽视导致了不理想的译文,并对目前指导散曲翻译的理论进行分析,指出用文化诗学理论指导散曲翻译的可能性与必要性。第四章在该理论指导下,本文提出散曲翻译的策略:研究散曲中的文化负载词汇及相应的翻译方法,从译文整体性出发进行再现;结合以诗译诗和以散文译诗之长,再现原文的诗意;翻译中注意文化与诗意的统一,求取最佳近似值。此外,对常用的翻译方法进行概括分析,并提出押韵的散文译诗与不规则的以诗译诗相结合的翻译方法。本文谨借从文化诗学角度对于元散曲英译的考察,对学界散曲英译研究有所助益。
