内容摘要

目前,人类社会发展已经进入一个崭新的时代。科学技术日新月异,国际形势经历着深刻变化。政治多极化与经济全球化深刻发展。现代化的交通与沟通方式使得世界正逐渐缩小为一个地球村,跨文化交流更加频繁。然而,由于各国间政治经济发展不平衡,各国文化在世界文化交流舞台上扮演的角色并不平等。发达国家表现出来的强势文化在跨文化交流中占据着主导地位,欠发达国家的文化却处于一种相对弱势的被动地位。西方发达国家利用文化这个软权力推行文化殖民主义与文化霸权主义政策,它们向弱势文化国家强加它们的价值观念与意识形态,企图边缘化、同化弱势文化。与此同时,弱势文化译者几乎迷失了自己的文化身份。他们盲目地大量引进西方文化产品,而在译介中国文化时,他们却总是以西方英语国家读者能否接受为出发点,甚至以牺牲自己民族特色文化为代价,不遗余力地将汉语原著向英美审美标准靠拢,这样非常不利于民族文化的发展。本文试图从后殖民语境角度来研究翻译与文化的关系,研究华夏文化与英美文化的主要不同之处,以此使中国译者对自己的民族文化有一个正确的把握。在译介华夏文化时,中国译者应该坚持正确的文化身份,并采用合适的翻译方法,以便保留中国文化的民族特色。只有这样,才能扩大中国文化在世界范围的影响,才有可能促成中国文化与英美文化之间的平等对话。
