基于语料库的中国学习者使用存在句的调查研究

内容摘要

存在句作为一种非常特殊的句型,在英语中得到广泛使用。英语存在句一直以来是语言学和二语习得研究的焦点。国内对于存在句的研究大多属于纯理论研究,只有少数学者对中国学习者习得存在句的中介语进行了研究。这类研究大多借用人工手段而缺乏大量语料的支持。另外,还没有人对中国学习者低、中、高三个发展水平的中介语中的存在句做系统分析。为了弥补这些不足,在语料库以及强大的语料库检索软件的支持下,本文研究了中国学习者习得存在句过程中的特征和影响中国学习者习得这一语言资源的因素。本文语料来源于两个语料库,一是英国国家语料库(BNC),是本族语料的代表;另一个是中国学习者语料库(CLEC),代表中国学习者中介语。本研究采用基于语料库的对比中间语分析法和错误分析法。20世纪90年代出现的学习者语料库对比分析,为研究高水平中介语提供了新视角,新手段。本研究在两个层面上展开分析。本研究首先对比分析了中国学习者语料库和英国国家语料库中的存在句;其次对比分析了学习者语料库中代号为ST2, ST4和ST6的子语料库。通过对语料的定性和定量两方面的分析,本研究发现:1.中国学习者存在超用存在句的倾向,各水平阶段的学习者不同程度的存在超用存在句的倾向。然而随着学习者英语水平的提高,超用的数量逐次降低。这一现象除了受汉语主题突出性特点的影响,还有学习者掌握句型单一而过分依赖存在句来表达各种语义命题的原因。2.中国学习者已经掌握了这一语法项目的使用,但语言学习者过多使用单一的动词,不能灵活运用各类情态动词及助动词来表达各种情态和时态。3.统计数据显示高水平学习者比低水平学习者更多使用复杂存在句。4.学习者语料中存在六种主要错误。这些错误分布不均,低水平学习者错误数量及种类均多于中等及高水平学习者,系受母语迁移影响的结果。本文通过仔细研究得出的中国学习者习得存在句的共同特点,将对教师的教学和学生的学习有重要意义。
