跨文化交际中的中国英语及其句型结构特征研究

内容摘要

语言是思维的工具,是文化的载体。世界英语的研究者认为,英语在国际范围内的广泛使用,与多种文化及意识形态的频繁接触,必将使其拥有多元文化身份,从而更有效地在广阔的跨文化交际语境中发挥重要作用。中国英语(China English)是英语语言与中国文化长期接触、逐渐融合的必然结果,是合理的、不可否认的客观存在,同时又是一种处于发展过程中的英语“使用型变体”。中国英语不同于中国式英语(Chinglish),它是以规范英语为核心,没有不可接受的语法错误,但在语音、词汇、句法以及语篇等方面拥有独特的中国特色,反映中国的特有事物、特有文化及思维方式,体现了中华民族的文化身份,有利于中国走向世界、世界了解中国,有利于跨文化交际。本文通过量化对比、分析两组中美两国国家领导人讲话的英文版,总结出了一些典型的中国英语句型结构特征:与美国英语相比,中国英语并不偏向于使用较短句式,但比较倾向于使用简单句,且复合句内部结构倾向于简单化,并列成分比较多。这与英语是“形合”语言,而汉语是“意合”语言密切相关,同时反映出英语民族“分析性”思维方式与中国人“整体性”思维方式的区别。两国领导人讲话中称谓的对比、结束语的对比、以及语言风格的对比(严肃或幽默)等也反映了中西文化的差异。进一步研究中国英语,需要更广泛的材料收集、更全面的分析视角与更坚实的理论基础。只有这样,才能使其得到更多的认可,更好地促进跨文化交际,同时对中国的英语学习及教学也具有更深刻的指导意义。希望本研究的一些发现能够激发对中国英语更多的兴趣,同时为对其深入的研究提供一些参考。
