基于语料库对科技英语次技术词用法的研究

随着语言学与科学技术的日益发展,科技英语越来越多地吸引研究者的关注。次技术词作为科技英语中特殊的语言现象,相比通用英语与其他文体,具有其自身特点,因而也成为了科技英语学习及教学中的难点。本文主要着眼于科技英语次技术词的词义特征及搭配特点展开研究。作者采用基于语料库的研究方法,应用东华大学科技英语语料库(教育部人文社科项目成果之一)进行研究。首先,作者采用WordSmith 4.0确定本文的研究对象。针对筛选所得的四个科技英语次技术词：Model, Reaction, Space及Energy,作者分别检验了其词图分布、相互吸引值,以及以节点词为中心的两词搭配。经过详实的定性与定量分析,作者从原型理论及词汇触发理论对科技英语次技术词的词义变化机制做出解释,并由其搭配特点总结了科技英语次技术词特有的搭配特征,为该领域的相关进一步研究奠定了基础。通过分析、计算和讨论,该研究在发掘科技英语次技术词特征的基础上还总结了教与学中存在的难点,并且提出了掌握科技英语次技术词的方法：即增加科技英语次技术词的教学曝光频率,做好对次技术词的认知准备；以及通过搭配学习来全方位掌握次技术词。尽管次技术词是科技英语中的棘手问题,但其用法及特点其实还是有章可循,有法可依的。
