内容摘要

长久以来,翻译学界缺乏对于戏剧翻译的学术性研究,缺乏理性的审视,更缺乏可依据的理论性指导。尤其是在国内学界,戏剧的翻译都是以大众文学欣赏与传播为目的,而舞台演出的内在本质更多被忽略。戏剧剧本作为文学作品的翻译已成为对戏剧翻译的专项研究被着重讨论,而没有建立一整套较完善的戏剧翻译理论体系也是学界的一大缺憾。为弥补这一缺憾,关联理论作为本文研究的理论基础,并着重探究英汉戏剧翻译的最终目的——舞台演出,从而添补这一研究领域的空白。作者认为,不同类型的翻译方法和原则有其最适用的文本；任何一种翻译理论必然都有着限定性和针对性。对翻译进行分门别类对翻译进行研究,更适合于甄别出翻译某些体裁文本的最有效翻译理论和方法。故对戏剧的翻译进行专项研究是十分必要的。本文中的戏剧作为表演艺术、语言艺术、美术、音乐、乃至舞台灯光效果的结合被看成一种独特的艺术形式。含有综合艺术的特性的戏剧区别于一般文学作品纯粹的语言艺术属性,而且戏剧的翻译理论和方法也不同于其他体裁的文本翻译。作者认为,大多戏剧的最终目的都是舞台演出,观众是戏剧演出最重要的接受者,也是戏剧这种艺术表现形式的终端。脱离了观众的艺术审美能力,戏剧艺术就不可能完整的体现出其美学特质。所以,演出的特性以及观众对译入语的接受感,就是戏剧翻译必须充分考虑到的。译者在翻译戏剧时不仅要考虑到译出表演本所具有的适合舞台演出的特质,更应尽可能地真实还原剧本内在传递出的所有语言信息。
