从功能翻译理论看电影《花样年华》的字幕翻译

内容摘要

随着跨文化交流的深入,影视文化在文化交流中起着越来越重要的作用。越来越多的译者开始对字幕翻译进行研究。本文作者通过定性研究方法以描述手法为手段从功能翻译理论视角对字幕翻译进行研究。根据功能主义的“目的论”的观点,字幕翻译是有目的的行为。在字幕翻译中,作为翻译行为发起者--导演的意图和作为目标文本接受者的观众期待决定了其字幕翻译的具体目的。译者依据导演的目的和目的语观众对影片的期待,对王家卫导演的《花样年华》的汉语字幕从功能到文本类型进行分析,从而了解字幕英译中所面临的语用、文化、文体四个层次上的翻译问题,为更好的选择翻译策略打下良好基础。该研究结果表明：虽然字幕翻译受时间与空间因素的制约,但在目的论为核心的功能翻译理论的指导下,只要译者正确分析影响字幕翻译的各种因素,很多在特殊环境下出现的翻译问题就能通过有效的翻译策略得到解决,从而在很大程度上避免了翻译错误。
