衔接连贯在大学英语阅读教学的应用

内容摘要

阅读是语言输入和积累的主要途径,也是培养学生语言综合能力的重要环节。从长远角度讲,提高阅读能力有利于培养学生的自主学习能力,这也符合当今学习型社会的教育理念。长期以来,阅读课在我国大学英语教学中占据十分重要的地位,教师在课堂教学中投入精力最大的就是阅读,然而学生的阅读能力并不尽如人意。笔者认为阅读教学的失败在一定程度上是由于在阅读教学和训练中缺乏相应的理论指导,教师仍采取传统的语法翻译模式,学生缺乏语篇意识以及其对衔接连贯知之甚少。近三十年来,随着语篇分析在西方的兴起,衔接连贯深刻影响着语言研究,其在语言研究方面的新视角给阅读教学带来很多启示。在阅读教学过程中,教师应努力培养学生的篇章意识,指导学生从整体角度去获取文章所传递的信息以及领会作者的意图。在本文中,笔者根据每个阶段阅读任务的特点,以新视野大学英语一篇课文为例,将阅读教学分为激活导入、理解性阅读和批评性阅读三个阶段,具体阐述衔接连贯在阅读教学中的应用。为了证明该教学方法的可行性,笔者对江苏教育学院大一两个班级进行了为期三个月的对比教学实践。实验结果证实在阅读中有意识地应用语篇衔接连贯对学生进行阅读技巧训练,可以有效地提高其阅读水平；尤其对那些已掌握一定英语语言能力的同学而言该教学效果体现得更为明显。
