学生的内在动机对学生的自主学习能力的作用

内容摘要

促进学习者自主是近20年来外语教学界的热门话题。尽管关于自主学习的研究已有很多,但这些研究大都局限于对学习者自主概念及学习者的态度、观念、学习策略和学习者的地位的研究((Cotterall, 2000: 109)。内在动机这一重要因素在很大程度上被忽略了。而对于内在动机和自主学习相结合的实验研究更是为数不多。所以本文探讨在初中英语课堂教学中激发学生的内在动机来培养学生自主学习能力的适用性和有效性。本研究采用准实验法,以两个自然班为实验对象,其中一个为实验班,一个为控制班。实验班的同学接受了一学期的内在动机的激发训练。实验活动包括:创造自主学习的环境,激发学生的学习兴趣,改变教学方法,提供恰当的、真实的学习材料及准备自主。而控制班的同学只接受正常的英语课教学。该研究旨在回答以下两个问题:1)激发学生的内在动机是否能有效地提高学生在英语学习中的自主学习能力?2)学生自主能力的提高是否对学习成绩有明显的促进作用?实验以问卷调查及能力测试形式在实验前后分别对受试者的动机、自主学习能力和语言水平进行测试,使用SPSS13. 0统计软件进行了描述性统计分析,相关分析及独立样本T检验分析。数据分析结果表明:1)内在动机的激发在提高学生的自主学习能力方面是有效的。实验组学生具有较高的内在学习动机和自主学习能力,并且组间的差异性比控制组要小。2)学生自主能力的提高有助于学业成绩的进步。随着自主学习能力的提高,实验组学生的学业成绩有较大进步。结果还表明自主能力的提高与学业成绩的进步成正相关。最后,文章还探讨该研究对英语教学的启示意义和其局限性,并对日后研究提出了些建议。
