内容摘要

楚辞是中国诗歌两大起源之一,是一部不朽的作品。楚辞英译,在文化全球化的今天,对于中国传统文化的传播和全球文化交流是十分重要的。国内外很多杰出的翻译家涉足楚辞英译领域,并且取得了辉煌的成就。此前有关楚辞英译的研究大多数采用定性分析的方法,而且分析过程中主观因素占据主导位置。本研究选取杨宪益与霍克斯译本为语料,建立了两个译本的平行语料库YPARA和HPARA。主要从三方面研究：词汇层面,句子层面和文本层面对两个平行语料库进行分析,研究中国古典诗歌英译是否存在翻译普遍性原则。该研究表明：霍克斯译文与杨宪益译文都存在明晰化。霍克斯译文在词汇层面,句子层面和文本层面都存在明晰化,而杨宪益译文仅在句子层面(被动语态)和文本层面存在明晰化。杨宪益的译文更接近原文,保持原作的韵味,有助于向西方介绍中国文化。霍克斯的译文通过增加解释部分使原文更加明晰易读,更加贴近目标语英语的使用习惯。
