内容摘要

无论在国内还是国外,文化翻译研究已经受到了学术界的极大关注。由于没有任何一位译者可以摆脱其本身所处的文化的影响,翻译过程也就是基于某种特定文化的选择和决定的过程已经成为共识。作为道家哲学的起源,《道德经》当然是中国古代文化遗产瑰宝中不可或缺的一部分。不论是生活还是事业上,众多哲学家、科学家、政治家、企业家都受到了它的激励和启发。从19世纪开始,大量的国内外学者开始关注《道德经》,而且这种趋势愈演愈烈。尽管不论是对它的研究还是翻译实践从没有停止过,却从没有任何一个译本得到过大家的完全认可。这主要是因为没有一个评价这部作品的共同标准,而且每一个译本都有其值得肯定的地方,也不可避免不足之处。这篇论文,通过对三个较典型的英译本的分析,总结出《道德经》的一些具有共性的文化特征,解释了文化因素如何影响对其的翻译过程,并提出一些翻译策略以供大家参考。
