内蒙古英语学习者朗读口语语调问题研究

内容摘要

语调是中国学生学习英语很难把握的一部分,是他们缺少英语“准确性”和“地道性”最根本的原因之一。在本研究中,尝试用英语语调理论对内蒙古东西部学生的英语语调进行分析,特别是利用当代生成音系学中Pierrehumbert(1980)的自主音段-节律理论的最新发展成果,以英国牛津大学IViE语料库中6名持伦敦音的本族语者的边界调为参照标准,在先进的理论框架下对学生语调进行对比分析。其次,通过发音、听辨实验及语料观察等途径,以及借助语音分析软件praat和语音标注系统ivie,对本族语者学生和本地区学生的语调进行对比研究。通过实验数据更加准确的分析受试者在语音语调上存在的问题。本研究中,受试者人数为34人,都是大学二年级非英语专业的学生,分别来自内蒙古东西部。而对比语料是从牛津大学语调实验室中的语料库获取的。其中包括5个不同句型的句子和1个段落。首先对来自内蒙古东西两地区的学生语调进行对比研究。研究结果发现,学习者由于方言不同导致了语音语调上的缺陷。然后与本组语者进行对比研究,在朗读句子时均与本族语者存在显著性差异。在把握长句复杂句的语音语调方面的能力相对较弱。另外,作者还进一步分析了本族语者和内蒙古英语学者在阅读时存在差异的原因,为今后英语语调教学和学习提供可行性建议和帮助,同时也丰富了英语语调研究的实证数据。
