论模糊限制语及其对英语学习的作用

内容摘要

在日常的交流中,人们通常使用精确的语言来表达自己的想法,但有时为了更好地表达想传递的信息,人们会大量使用模糊语。众所周知,模糊性是人类语言的内在特征。而模糊限制语作为模糊语系统的一个重要组成部分,普遍存在于人们的交际活动中,发挥着精确语言所不能替代的独特作用。模糊限制语的恰当使用既可以增强语言的表达能力和交流的有效性,又可以使语言表达更自然得体、礼貌含蓄、灵活有效,从而能更好地传递人们的思想和情感。如此,交际双方的人际关系得以维系和改善,交际的目的得以实现。自20世纪70年代以来,国外的学者和语言学家对模糊限制语进行过各方面深入而全面的研究。相较而言,我国在该领域类似的研究还未达到国外同等水平,仍有进一步探索研究的广阔空间。本文通过分析调查,一方面期望可以帮助读者加深对模糊限制语这种语言现象的认识和理解；另一方面,期望能够对外语教学中如何提高学习者语用能力方面有所启示。本文首先对模糊限制语的定义和分类进行了细致的阐述,然后回顾了当前模糊限制语和课堂话语的研究现状；其次,借助一次问卷调查和语言测试,本文试图证明语言的模糊容忍度与学习者语言水平是有相关性的；再次,通过研究和分析中学英语课堂教学影像的转录文本,本文真实呈现了中学英语课堂中模糊限制语的使用情况,并回答了英语课堂中老师和学生各自使用的模糊限制语数量及他们通常使用的模糊限制语的类型等问题。在此之后本文对英语课堂中模糊限制语的语用功能进行了系统的概括总结。最后,本文以研究结果为依据,针对在中学英语课堂中如何教授模糊限制语进而提高英语学习者的语用能力的问题提出了一些建议。
