非英语专业学生跨文化交际中语用失误及策略研究

内容摘要

随着全球化的进程，人们与不同国家的人交流日趋频繁。由于文化的不同，在跨文化交际中，他们不可避免地遭遇了交际失败，导致了误解、猜疑甚至冲突。这种叫做语用失误的现象引起了越来越多国内外学者的浓厚兴趣。本文旨在掌握当代非英语专业学生在跨文化交际中的语用失误情况，系统分析造成语用失误的原因，并进一步提出减少语用失误的策略以帮助他们更好地进行完整且有效的跨文化交际。文章依据Thomas的语用失误理论框架，从言语行为和非言语行为两个方面把语用失误进行了全新分类，它们是：语用语言失误，社交语用失误和行为语用失误。为了了解和掌握现阶段非英语专业学生在跨文化交际中的语用失误情况，本文进行了一项针对中国人和美国人在跨文化交际中的语用失误的测试调查。笔者从成都大学非英语专业学生中随机抽取了80名学生进行测试。调查结果显示，学生的语言能力和语用能力有关系但并不完全成正比，而文化学习则能帮助语言学习者培养文化意识和提高语用能力，以便能最大限度地减少跨文化交际中的语用失误现象。运用Kasper的语用迁移理论，本文将语用失误的原因划分为语用语言负迁移和社交语用负迁移，并对其进行了进一步分析。文章运用Austin的言语行为理论、Grice的合作原则和Leech的礼貌原则这三大语用学基本理论，找到了导致语用语言失误的原因是语用语言负迁移。同时，语言离不开文化。中国与西方国家尤其是英语国家在地理环境、历史进程和宗教信仰方面都各不相同。中国的仁礼思想和西方的人文主义思潮，作为各自文化的主流思想，使得中国人和英语国家的人在价值体系及思维方式上都产生了差异。结合大量实例，本文将这些差异归结为社交语用失误的深层原因。基于对语用失误原因的分析，有别于以前的研究，本文从学习者的角度而不是教师的角度为英语学习者提出了有助于提高语用能力和文化意识的有操作性的建议和切实可行的补救措施。
