内容摘要

目前大多数中国非英语专业学生在英文写作上有很大难度。这个现象的产生主要基于几个原因:一方面在大学英语教学的课程安排上,英语写作课不是一门独立的课程,学生没有机会接受系统、专业的英语写作指导,因此他们的写作能力无法提高,不能达到大学英语教学大纲的要求:另一方面,在缺乏系统指导和训练的前提下,母语中书面表达的特点和思维方式对中国学生的外语写作也有着不容忽视的影响。这不仅反映在词汇语法层面,而且表现在语篇组织和结构方面。针对这种现状,本文试图寻找一种更为直接明示的方式对学生进行有针对性的写作教学方法,以注意假设和对比修辞为理论指导,通过系统的写作训练,加强学生对中英文写作差异的意识。本文首先回顾了近年来对比修辞和有意注意假设在理论和实践方面的历史和发展,过去的研究表明,对比修辞在课堂上的使用有助于学生意识到语言和修辞的不同,但在学生的写作中没有产生明显的效果。基于注意假设和对比修辞,本文设计了一个教学实验。以在读的部分二年级硕士研究生为实验对象,旨在引导学生注意英语写作特点和语篇组织方式,希望一段时间的写作训练能帮助学生遵循英文写作的基本过程并且学会如何使写作连贯、一致以及用不同的方式发展段落等。通过观察此次系统训练对学生的影响,本研究发现学生对文化差异对写作的影响以及英汉两种语言修辞差异的意识有明显提高,学生更好地了解了英语写作的基本概念,并且掌握了英语写作的主要步骤,学生的作文水平在连贯、一致、段落发展以及总体结构方面都有了较大的提高。因此可以说这种教学方式有助于学生提升英语写作修辞意识,提高写作水平。
