从翻译美学角度探讨小说翻译中对话美的再现

内容摘要

不同于非文学翻译,文学翻译仅仅做到语义的诠释,是远远不够的。在国内外翻译理论和实践历史上,一个普遍的观点认为文学美(或称为文学作品的审美价值)应成为文学翻译中的一个侧重点。从翻译美学的角度看来,在从源语言到目标语言的转换过程中,文学美的再现便是审美的再现。本文以文学作品翻译的重要形式之一——小说翻译中的对话美为一个切入点,阐述这个审美再现的过程和重点。在文学作品的审美过程中,文学作品是审美的客体,读者便是审美的主体。而翻译者在文学审美过程中的角色可说是特殊的审美主体,因其肩负着审美和审美再现的任务。本文针对这一特殊而重要的主体,提出了一些原则,以供探讨。接着又从翻译过程的两个基本步骤(理解和表达)入手,对如何完成审美过程,论文作者认为,理解可视为探索对话美艺术效果的过程;而表达则是小说对话美的审美再现的过程。在表达部分,又将小说对话的审美价值看作是形式美和内容美在这个审美客体内的集合;并分别在各个细节进行分析(如在形式美的语音层次),小说对话艺术效果是如何再现的;同时对所选小说的各个译本的在此点上的再现进行比较和评述。最后,本文在结论中对小说翻译对话美的再现进行三个方面问题的总结:审美中主体和客体的关系问题;翻译审美过程中理解和表达的关系问题;小说对话审美价值的形式和内容的关系问题。作者认为,审美客体只有通过审美主体的理解和表达才能实现其美学价值的再现,在这过程中,应力求实现语义信息和美学信息的统一,形式美和内容美的统一。
