内容摘要

习语是语言发展的结晶,是语言词汇的重要组成部分和精华。英语中包含着大量的习语。英语习语语言简洁,却包含着浓厚的地方文化和民族特色,因此,英语习语的汉译不仅涉及语言层面的转换,同时也涉及到文化层面的转换。中西方的文化差异则是影响英语习语的根本因素。本文则是从文化空缺和图式理论的视角来透析英语习语汉译中的这些文化因素。奈达曾把与翻译密切相关的文化因素分为五个部分：生态文化、宗教文化、物质文化、社会文化和语言文化。在本文中作者将把英语习语中所反映的中西方文化空缺分别从前面四个方面进行阐释。同时从一个新的视角-运用图式理论为英语习语汉译过程中碰到的空缺问题提供相应的解决方案,使其译文达到图式理解上的功能对等。
