中美跨文化交际中文化冲突的案例研究及其对第二文化习得的启示

内容摘要

随着经济全球化和中西文化交流的频繁,当今的世界犹如一个汇集了多种语言,多种文化,多种思想的地球村落。在这里人们需要跨越不同的经济体制、政治制度、宗教信仰、思维方式、价值观念来进行交际。中华民族作为一个拥有五千多年辉煌灿烂的文明历史的古老国家,在当今的世界舞台上占有举足轻重的地位。在中国与世界的交流中,具有两种不同底蕴和背景的中西文化,也不断地碰撞、冲突着。经济的全球化并没有缩短文化交流的差距。在跨文化交际的过程中,如果不能很好地了解不同文化差异,不能很好地处理差异所带来的文化冲突,就会导致在跨文化交际过程种出现尴尬的情况,甚至会出现矛盾、混乱的局面。基于解决跨文化交际冲突的目的,笔者通过在美国学习的两年中,通过访谈、调查当地美国人和旅美华人的形式,获得了对话录音、访谈笔录等一手研究数据,以霍夫斯塔德的文化维度理论为依据,以马斯洛需求层次理论和“文化图式理论”为支撑,通过案例分析提出解决这一文化冲突的方法。人类的活动主要围绕着由低到高的五种不同层次的需求进行。但是,不同的文化图式会对人的需求产生重大的影响,甚至会对需求层次进行重新的排序。因此,在交际过程中相同需求阶段的不同文化图式、不同需求阶段的相同文化图式、不同需求阶段的不同文化图式的载体(即不同文化背景孕育的民族),如果没有合理和有效的沟通,都会或多或少会产生冲突和矛盾。最后,本文提出解决跨文化交际冲突的方法,即提高第二文化习得的能力,构建第二文化习得模式,并提出了两种文化互通下的“文化图式沙拉”。
