英语被动语态及其在中学中的教学的认知研究

内容摘要


被动语态是英语中的一个重要语法现象,是语言学界研究的主要内容之一,不同的语法流派都对其有过一定的研究。然而,中学生在学习英语被动语态时依然觉得规则繁杂难记,因此被动语态的使用依然是中学生英语学习中的难点。为解决此问题,本文从认知的角度对英语的被动语态及其教学进行了研究。语言是认知能力发展到一定阶段的产物,被动语态即是这样一种产物。本文根据认知语言学中的突显观、识解视角、图形/背景原理和典型事件模型对英语动词被动语态的生成、理解及其使用选择做出了解释。本文指出语态是反映语言使用者识解某一事件的不同视角的语法范畴,主动语态反映语言使用者从施事者的视角识解某一事件,被动语态则反映语言使用者从受事者的视角识解某一事件；语言使用者认知视角的选择决定了语态的选择,被动语态的选择过程是一个认知过程,是说话人从受事者出发识解事件并用被动语态对其识解结果进行表达的过程。被动语态是认知的产物,被动语态的教学不能与认知相脱离。为此,本文对从认知的角度实施中学英语被动语态教学的理论依据及具体的教学方法进行了讨论。文章指出,从认知的角度实施被动语态的教学就是要按照被动语态所反映的认知规律和学生学习语言知识的认知特点进行被动语态的教学。在此基础上,文章对如何从认知的角度教被动语态的形式、意义与用法进行了具体的探讨。为检验此教学方法的效果,作者进行了相应的教学实验,结果与预期相吻合。本研究将认知语言学理论与中学英语中具体语言现象的研究和教学相结合,既注重语言知识背后的认知理据,又注重语言知识教学过程中的认知规律,对中学英语教学特别是语法知识的教学具有理论和现实意义。
