漯河市外语中学初一学生英语学习动机的个案研究

内容摘要

本文实证性地研究了在漯河市英语教学课堂学习环境下,漯河市外语中学初一学生的英语学习动机及相关问题。旨在了解初一学生英语学习的动机倾向以及不同学习动机持有者在课堂上的行为表现,发现学生学习中的困难,分析原因及提供建议。研究的问题有四个,分别是：(1)初一学生都有什么样的英语学习动机；(2)不同学习动机对作业完成情况有什么影响；(3)不同动机类型的学生在课堂行为表现上有什么不同；(4)通过对教师的访谈,了解初一学生英语学习常见困难有哪些以及影响学生学习动机的外部因素都有哪些?本研究采用了定量研究与定性研究相结合的办法,通过问卷、课堂观察及访谈三种方法来进行研究。采取个案研究的方式,选取初一一个普通班级(60人)进行问卷调查,再根据问卷的得分情况,选取了四名动机倾向差异较大的四名学生,进行为期一周的课堂观察,然后对这个班的英语教师和年级英语组长进行了单独的访谈。研究的主要结果有：(1)总的来说,受试者的英语学习动机倾向排名前三位的分别是自我提高、英语的实用价值和自身责任感。(2)受试者的动机倾向中,有三种动机倾向和作业完成情况成正相关。(3)不同动机倾向的学生的课堂行为不同,主要表现在四个方面：回答问题情况、肢体上的反应和动作、小组活动、记笔记情况。(4)初一英语学习的常见困难为基础差、学习自觉性不高、学习习惯不好。教师应对其学习动机结构有全面的理解并通过运用不同的教学方法来培养并保持学生良好的学习动机。
