内容摘要

苏曼殊(1884-1918)是我国清末民初的诗人、画家、词典及梵文语法书编撰者、僧人和革命家,同时又是重要的诗歌翻译家。他是中国近代诗歌翻译的先驱,于1908年出版了我国第一本翻译诗歌专辑《文学因缘》,并在随后的几年里陆续出版了《拜伦诗选》(1909)、《潮音》(1911)和《汉英三昧集》(1914)三部诗集,这在当时是绝无仅有的。据柳无忌的研究,历史上对苏曼殊的研究经历了三个阶段。但是,这三个阶段的研究重点在于他的创作方面。现有的研究他译诗的论文不仅数量有限,而且基本是介绍性的、主观评价性的。翻译是一个做决定的过程,一项受规则制约的活动,一个有目的的行为。它总是发生在特定的语言、社会和文化语境之中,因此翻译研究不应与其发生的语言、社会和文化语境割裂。本文采用描述—解释的研究方法,对苏曼殊的译诗及其诗歌创作进行分析,客观地考查苏曼殊诗歌翻译的动机、文本选择的倾向、特定翻译策略选择的文化动因、以及在社会和译界引起的反响。研究希望是描述性的而非规定性的。论文主要包含五个部分。导论部分介绍了对苏曼殊译诗进行研究的重要性及其现状以及研究方法。第一章探讨翻译及其历史定义。试图从特定的历史语境中来探讨翻译及其定义,为下面讨论苏曼殊译诗个案做好铺垫。论文主体第二、三两章从苏曼殊译诗与创作来探讨其译诗中的语体沿袭及其内化与动因。
