英语母语者与中国英语学习者关于心理词汇组织方式的对比研究

内容摘要

本论文以语义网络模型、词汇深度发展模式及二语词汇习得模型为理论基础研究一语与二语心理词汇的异同。研究旨在通过比较母语者与二语者对某些词的反应来透视二语心理词汇的组织方式,并考察词汇深度对其心理词汇的影响,为进一步揭示中国英语学习者的二语心理词汇本质、构建中国英语学习者的心理词汇模式提供有效的数据支持。本文运用词汇联想测试和词汇深度测试,以15名中国英语学习者与15名英语母语者为受试展开测试。实验结果表明,母语者与二语者的心理词汇总体上存在差异,主要体现在二语者的语音反应多于母语者;但以词汇深度为维度时,两组受试的反应随着对词汇的熟悉程度的变化呈现相似的趋势,即对于掌握程度较深的词,以语义反应为主,语音及其他非语义反应较少,反之对于掌握较浅的词汇,两组受试者的反应均以语音或其他非语义反应为主,语义反应较少。这一结果表明,词汇在融入整个二语词汇网络中要经历一个由语音主导到语义联结的转变过程,基于以上结论,本文提出了一些相关教学建议。教师在词汇教学中应针对二语学习者不同的学习水平采用相应的教法,应重视语音联结在心理词库组织中的辅助作用,帮助学生有意识地运用语义联结重组二语词汇,并重视引导学生在语境中学习词汇。
