显性概念隐喻教学对大学生英语阅读能力的影响

内容摘要

本文主要研究显性概念隐喻教学对英语阅读理解能力的影响。文章首先简述了概念隐喻理论,介绍了相关术语,以及目前概念隐喻在国内外教学中的应用。然后,在评论前人的研究的基础上,进行显性概念隐喻教学的可行性分析后,设计了显性概念隐喻的教学试验以及概念隐喻教学对中国大学生英语阅读理解的影响的测试,测试的阅读文章选材的内容以经济类为主。实验主要研究两个问题：第一,显性概念隐喻教学是否有助于大学生英语阅读理解能力的提高。第二,大学生对显性概念隐喻教学的态度和反响。本实验对湖南理工学院英语专业本科二年级两个平行班学生进行四个月的商贸英语教学试验,设置实验组和控制组。实验数据收集工作由两位老师操作,利用EXCEL软件和SPSS(版本13.0)进行数据分析。实验结果表明：1)两个组在实验前英语阅读理解水平相当。但是实验组在实验教学结束后,阅读理解水平明显高于控制组。这说明显性概念隐喻教学对学生阅读理解能力发展有促进作用。2)学生对显性概念隐喻教学方法反响良好,认为这种新的教学方法很能激发学习兴趣,并且有助于提高学习积极性。本研究的探索对英语阅读教学具有很重要的意义,使我们获悉显性概念隐喻教学不仅仅只有助于词汇记忆,而且对学生阅读理解能力的发展也有一定的促进作用,并且大部分学生能接收这种教学方法并对此感兴趣。从而可以把概念隐喻理论与英语教学的结合领域进一步拓展,更好地指导英语教学工作。
