写作时长和字数对中学生英语写作交际效能和准确性的影响

内容摘要

本论文是一项关于写作时长和字数对中学生英语写作交际效能和准确性影响的实证研究,该研究以运城盐化中学高二年级384名学生作为研究对象。写作题目是写作者们非常熟悉的毕业留言——"Parting Words on Graduation",要求写作者们在规定的时间写出符合字数要求的文章,即分别在20,25,30,35分钟写出100,120,140,160字的作文。为了不影响该年级正常的教学秩序,监考人员利用学生的自主学习时间进行测试实验,该实验持续一周,分别16个自然班进行。写作质量根据其交际效能和准确性来进行评定。本研究旨在探讨限时条件下适合高中学生发挥其最佳英语写作水平的时间长度和字数要求。关于时间长度对英语作文成绩影响的研究很多,但时长对英语作文成绩是否有影响以及有什么影响,学术界并没有定论。而针对字数要求对限时条件下英语作文质量的研究相当少。并且这些研究多以高级语言学习者为研究对象,而针对普通中学的中学生的研究基本没有。因此有必要在这方面进行更多的研究。本研究发现：时长和字数要求对中学生写作交际效能和准确性的影响方式不尽相同。具体如下：(1)时长对中学生写作交际效能没有显著影响,但对写作准确性有显著影响。在100,120,140,160字的限时作文中,25分钟最有利于写作者写出准确度高的文章。(2)字数对中学生写作准确性没有影响,但对写作交际效能有显著影响,并且对写作交际效能的影响具有选择性。在时间长度确定的前提下,120字的作文准确性最高。本项研究清晰地反映了时长和字数要求对中学生写作交际效能和准确性的影响,本研究结果对中学生英语写作教学与测试有如下启示：有利于高中生在限时条件下充分发挥自己的写作水平；有利于一线中学教师改进日常写作教学；同时为高中生写作测试提供理论和实证依据。
