英汉委婉语对比研究

内容摘要

委婉语是不同文化当中普遍存在的一种语言现象。国内外许多学者从不同角度对委婉语进行了研究。本文对英汉两种语言中存在的委婉语进行对比研究，这会有助于我们对英汉委婉语的语言特征以及它们所反映出来的两种不同文化的相似与差异有一个更好的了解，从而有助于在交际中恰当地解读和使用委婉语。本论文由六章构成。第一章陈述委婉语的释义。第二章阐述本篇论文的写作动机、目的和写作方法；英汉委婉语的历史及其发展概述以及委婉语的真正范围。指出英汉委婉语应用广泛和研究狭窄的矛盾在当前是必定存在的。第三章至第五章是对英汉委婉语的对比研究。第三章从语言学角度，重点从词形学、词源学、语义学、语法学和语用学等五个方面就英汉委婉语进行对比研究。第四章从文化角度，论述委婉语与文化的关系，同时分析几种主要的英汉委婉语的类型，以反映中英文化的相似和差异。第五章从交际的角度，探索委婉语的基本交际功能，委婉语所依赖的社会环境，制约委婉语应用的交际原则，跨文化交际中的委婉语以及在非语言交际中英汉委婉语的对比研究。在总结部分中，指出委婉语不仅是一种语言、文化现象，而且更是一种修辞和交际策略，而且它用得越来越广泛。熟悉目的语文化中委婉语的语言特征，提高对目的语文化与母语文化之间存在差异的意识，并根据语境来解读和应用委婉语是在跨文化交际中有效使用委婉语的关键。通过英汉委婉语对比研究有助于两种文化的人们更好地交流沟通，更好地相互认识，包括他们的思维方式，道德观念，社会价值观和风俗习惯等等。当然，作为具有欺骗性和规避性特点的委婉语，在实际应用中应尽量谨慎和限制使用。
