成人教育学院学生跨文化意识研究

内容摘要

随着经济全球化发展,跨文化交际已经成为很多中国人日常生活的一个重要部分。很多成人教育学院学生(成教学生)所从事的工作直接或间接地与跨文化交际有关。为了能和外国人成功地进行交际,他们不仅要学习语言,更要了解其文化。而中国大多数成人教育学院的教学目的则是为了提高学生的听说读写技能,对跨文化交际教学重视不够。本研究试图了解中国成教学生的跨文化意识现状,以便采取相应对策。在Hanvey的跨文化意识四层理论和Oxford & Scarcella的跨文化意识五步理论框架下,本研究提出了三个问题:1).成教学生的跨文化知识现状如何? 2).成教学生的跨文化意识怎样?3)成教学生对跨文化交际的理解和看法如何?本研究采用定量和定性分析相结合的方法。300名来自蚌埠地区三所成人教育学院的学生参加了两份调查问卷,其中20名学生还参加了访谈。本研究采用SPSS 12.0和Excel 2000两种工具,从七个方面详细分析了跨文化知识的选择,还从五个方面分析了跨文化意识/敏感度的数据,得出如下三个主要结论:1).成教学生缺乏跨文化知识。2).成教学生跨文化意识/敏感度很薄弱。3)大多数成教学生对跨文化知识学科了解甚少,但对这门课程的学习却很感兴趣。论文最后得出三点教学启示,并指出了本研究的不足以及对今后研究的建议。
