话语标记语及其对法庭提问理解的关联性制约

内容摘要
本文运用描述和解释性的研究方法,对话语标记语(discourse markers)在法庭提问(courtroom questioning)理解中所起的作用进行探讨。研究中涉及到了中、英文的法庭语料。本文认为话语标记语对法庭的提问理解起到了关联制约的作用。为了对法庭提问中所出现的话语标记语进行分类,并对其在法庭提问这一特殊语境中的功能进行阐释,本文在以下基础之上建立起了语用认知的理论框架:(1)在对日常交际情景中的话语标记语进行研究时,Blakemore(1987,2002)所提出的关联理论的研究方法;(2)本文作者对法庭提问中出现的话语标记语的观察研究。 通过对法庭交际的实例研究,本文发现了法庭提问中经常使用的三类话语标记语,观念标记语(ideational markers),参与标记语(participation markers),言外之力的实施标记语(illocutionary performatives)。在法庭提问过程中,提问者利用话语标记语来制约听者对话语中关联的寻找。本文中所研究的三类话语标记语,在基本功能上各有区别。观念标记语能够帮助揭示话语中蕴涵的提问者的交际意图,有助于提问者将所要表达的信息和个人观念更清晰的传递给法庭提问过程中的听者。参与标记语标志着法庭问话中话题的转换以及话轮的控制,这种标记语有助于推进听者寻找法庭交际话语中的关联。言外之力的实施标记语影响听者对话语中蕴涵的言外之力的理解,从而制约听者对法庭提问话语的理解。本研究将有助于阐明如何运用话语标记语将法庭提问的过程转化成为一个可理解的和策略性的交际过程。
