实现叙述声音的权威

内容摘要


美国华裔作家谭恩美自1989年发表其处女作《喜福会》以来，接连创作了《灶神之妻》、《灵感女孩》及《接骨师的女儿》等一系列颇受读者欢迎的作品。谭恩美的小说无一例外均以美国华裔女性为主人公，这些女性形象对读者具有极大的震撼力和影响力，从女性主义叙事学的角度看，谭恩美书中的华裔女性人物已经成功地实现了“话语权威”。 谭恩美不遗余力地为华裔女性争取话语权威出于两个原因：其一，谭恩美自身是一位女性，因而为女性——人类社会中较弱的性别群体争取权威是她的使命；其二，谭恩美是美国华裔群体中的一员，而华裔在美国被视为边缘群体，故谭恩美强烈地希望华裔作为一个整体能在美国主流文化圈中树立起话语权威。 为了实现“话语权威”，谭恩美在其作品中运用了各种各样的叙述方式。她不仅在其小说中使用了传统、普通的叙事模式——作者型叙述声音和个人型叙述声音，还在其作品《喜福会》中引入了较为现代的集体型叙事声音、在《接骨师的女儿》等作品中融入了具有中国特色的话本叙述模式。其中，后两种叙述技巧的运用使得谭恩美的作品独树一帜、与众不同。 作为一名女性作家和华裔女性作家，谭恩美通过将传统和现代的叙述手法相结合、将中国和西方的叙事艺术相融合，成功地为美国华裔女性乃至整个华裔群体实现了叙述声音的权威。
